Italian law firm BonelliErede have launched a new art and cultural property team.

The decision was made to meet the growing demand for services in this area,  and will bring together a focussed group of BonelliErede professionals who have a past experience and a proven reputation in advising international art galleries, auction houses, museums and cultural foundations, financial institutions and private banks, collectors, and high net worth individuals.

“The new Art and Cultural Property Focus Team takes us another step towards our goal of aligning ourselves even closer to our clients’ needs”, commented Co-Managing Partner Stefano Simontacchi.

BonelliErede’s new team includes experts on  a variety of areas of law including tax; customs; criminal, civil and commercial law; and banking and finance law. Members of the team will work closely with the existing  Private Clients Focus Team, as often these clients may require legal assistance on art law issues. The team will be headed by Alberto Saravalle who will work closely with Silvia Stabile and Manlio Frigo. Other members of the team are Angelo Bonetta, Carlo Montagna, Francesco Sbisà and Stefano Simontacchi.

Stabile has gained considerable experience in leading Italian and international law firms specialised in art law and has authored several publications on this subject. Frigo is a professor of international and European Union law at the University of Milan and has long been recognised as a leading international expert in cultural property.

“Our firm has always paid special attention to art law. With the creation of this focus team, we will become a reference point for the art sector not only in Italy, but also internationally”, added Co-Managing Partner Marcello Giustiniani.
