Christie’s is holding a pop-up selling event in Seattle, as part of Andy Warhol at Christie’s, a multi-year, multi-platform partnership with The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. In collaboration with Wells Fargo, the selling event will be held October 3-8, at Sole Repair Shop.

This exhibition will make available to the public a curated group of more than 40 photographs, prints and works on paper by the Pop Art superstar, with price points ranging from $2,500-$55,000, many of which have never been seen before.  This exhibition is timed to coincide with the “Pop Departures” exhibition at the Seattle Art Museum, which features the work of Andy Warhol, among others.

Amelia Manderscheid, associate vice president, specialist, Warhol Private Sales, said: “We are delighted to present a selection of Warhol’s musically-themed works in Seattle, which is significant given the city’s extraordinary history of local music that continues today. Warhol aligned himself with the top names in the music industry, designing many album covers for musicians throughout his career and befriending them at the famed Studio 54. There he met everyone from Elton John to Meatloaf. This selling exhibition will offer a glimpse into that world, with prints and photographs of Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Ozzy Osbourne, Dolly Parton, Diana Ross and Debbie Harry, among others.”

Admission to the exhibition is free and open to the public. As with all sales in Andy Warhol at Christie’s—including live auctions, online-only auctions and private sales — all works are drawn from the collection of The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, with proceeds benefitting the Foundation’s grant-making programs.
